Welcome to Formality! To ensure a smooth and secure experience, follow these steps to integrate Formality into your Office 365 environment.

This guide is intended for IT administrators and walks you through authorizing Formality for SSO and deploying the application in Microsoft Teams.

Step 1: Enable Microsoft Single Sign-On (SSO) for your organization

If SSO is not enabled for your organization, follow the steps in the dedicated article.

Step 2: Deploy Formality in Microsoft Teams

Once SSO is configured, you can add Formality to your Microsoft Teams environment and deploy it to the Admin team.

Open the Microsoft Teams admin center:

Add Formality to Teams

  • In the left navigation, select Teams apps > Manage apps.

  • Click + Upload a custom app if Formality does not appear in the catalog.

  • Select the Formality app package:

  • Once imported, find Formality in the list and select it.

  • Click Allow to approve its use in your organization.

Deploy Formality to the Admin team

  • In the left menu, go to Teams apps > Setup policies.

  • Click + Add or modify an existing policy.

  • In Installed apps, click Add apps and search for Formality.

  • Select Formality and click Add.

  • Limit the deployment to theAdmin team.

  • Click Save.

Verify the deployment

  • Open Microsoft Teams and switch to theAdmin team.

  • Go to Apps and make sure Formality appears in the list.

  • If needed, manually pin Formality to the team's sidebar for direct access.

  • Ask members of the Admin team to sign in at https://auth.eu1.formality.com/arrow-up-right with their Microsoft account to activate the connection, then send their first question to the Assistant from Teams!


Final steps

Once these configurations are complete, users with the correct permissions will be able to securely sign in to Formality using their Office 365 credentials, and the Admin team will be able to manage Formality directly within Microsoft Teams.
