How does Automatic Extraction work?
When you import a document (contract, appendix, certificate, etc.) into Formality, the platform uses its Intelligent Assistant to analyze the file and automatically extract the essential information.
What is extracted?
Formality identifies the key elements of the document, for example:
The contract name
The stakeholders (counterparties, signing entities)
The important dates (signature, start, end, renewal)
The key clauses (e.g. termination, penalties, obligations)
⚙How does it work?
The tool doesn't just store your PDFs: it reads their content and pre-fills the main fields in your workspace. You save time and reduce manual errors, while retaining the ability to review and correct each piece of information before validation.
Why is it useful?
You avoid tedious manual data entry
You centralize your documents and their data in a usable format
You can then enable alerts and automatic workflows (renewals, approvals, obligations to track)
Limits to keep in mind
The AI assists you, but it does not replace your human eye:
Some information may be missing or misinterpreted
It is always recommended to proofread and confirm the suggested fields before finalizing the Agreement
👉 In summary: Automatic Extraction is like a digital assistant that prepares your contracts for you, so you can focus on monitoring and managing them rather than on data entry.
