trash-slashI can't delete an Agreement type

Why this restriction exists

Each type of Agreement (e.g.: lease, service contract, NDA, etc.) may include custom fields specific to your business, for example:

  • Area in m² for a real estate lease

  • Notice period for a supplier contract

  • Guaranteed amount for a service Agreement

These fields structure the data extracted and displayed in your views and reports. To prevent any loss of information or inconsistency in your Agreements, Formality prevents deleting a type of Agreement as long as custom fields are attached to it.

What to do if you still need to delete it?

  1. Check the associated custom fields

    • Open the relevant type of Agreement

    • See the Custom fields

  2. Delete or reassign these fields

    • Delete them manually if they are no longer used

    • Or reassign them to another type of Agreement if you want to keep them

  3. Then return to delete the type of Agreement Once the fields are detached, deletion will be available.

💡Good to know

  • Custom fields are linked to the business logic of each type of Agreement

  • Their deletion or movement can affect existing forms, filters and reports

  • To avoid any errors, we recommend coordinating these changes with an administrator of your workspace
