Review and validate imported documents
Check extractions and add your documents to the Formality library with confidence.
When a document is added to your workspace via a direct upload or a integration (Teams, SharePoint, DocuSign, etc.), it appears in the Document Processing. Each file shows:
its name and the number of pages,
the detected parties,
and the import source.
and, if the document comes from the integration with SharePoint, the original access path (e.g. 📁
Projects > 📁 Building_Rivoli > 📁 Tenant_Contracts)
This information helps you identify the document before validation.
Two validation options
Formality lets you choose the method best suited to your flow:
✅ Option 1 - Direct validation
Select one or more files and click:
Add an agreement (e.g. Lease, SLA, Supplier Contract, etc.) → The selected documents are directly added to the library, with the default permissions of your workspace. They appear immediately at the top of the agreements list.
Attach to an existing agreement → The documents are added to already existing contracts, ideal for amendments or annexes.
💡 This method is ideal when:
the documents follow a known template,
permissions are already well configured,
you want to move quickly without manual validation
Processing takes place in the background: you can leave the page during the process.
🔍 Option 2 - Review of extractions
Click on the document name or on View to:
preview the PDF,
review the automatically extracted information (dates, parties, amounts, key clauses…).

You can correct the fields before adding or attaching the document. This step ensures reliable extraction for long or sensitive files.
💡 This method is recommended for:
complex contracts,
documents with high legal value,
or when you want to verify the data extracted from documents before they are accessible in your contract library and thus searchable.
Bulk validation
Both actions (direct validation or manual review) can be performed on multiple documents at once :
Check the desired files
Choose the action (Add, Attach, or Delete)

Special case: new counterparty
If a document contains an unknown party (not yet registered in your entity directory), Formality automatically creates the corresponding entity with the default permissions. You can then rename it or adjust its rights at any time.
In summary
Choose your method : quick validation or full review
Act in bulk on multiple files
Add or attach your documents with one click
Stay in control of entities and permissions
Formality adapts to your pace: fast when everything is ready, rigorous when verification is required.
